Biography

Of French and Canadian nationality, Claude Infante was born in Algeria where she lived for 15 years, before studying in Aix en Provence and Paris - master in Literature -  Law, Political Sciences - piano and musicology.

She began her professional  career in the banking sector (Suez, CCF) before moving to culture
- as Press and Production Attaché at France Musique/Radio France,
- from 1985 to 1991, as responsible for the Law and Commercial Studies Department at the Paris-Bastille Opera.

From 1991 to 2005 she lived in Canada, where she worked on cultural development projects, including  : 

- research and advisory work for the Canadian Ministry of Culture and the French Foreign Affairs Ministry, with a view to developing international musician exchanges,
- from 1994, creation and managemet of the Canadian Music Crossroads Foundation.

This Foundation organized diverse international manifestations, including  a string quartet festival - Strings of the Future -, with world renowned ensembles in residence, among which the Arditti String Quartet. The festival has generated around a hundred manifestations, with concerts, debates, international music critics' workshops, master classes and school outreach activities.

At the same time,  Claude Infante has been responsible for the Cultures section of the Journal de l'Europe,
After returning to Paris in 2005, she became head of projects and member of the Editorial Committee of the Cahiers Européens d'Houjarray (Jean Monnet Association), Paris. 

In 2009, she created CROSSROADS cultures, which succeeded to the Canadian Music Crossroads Foundation.

In 2011,  she organized The EuroTrail - Re-Thinking Realities Conference at the European Parliament, Brussels. (29 November) for the Europe of Cultures Forum, Brussels, in partnership with Cidob - Barcelona, CICI - University of Ghent, COSMOPOLIS -V.U.Brussels, et ISES Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence,  Köszeg.

In 2012, she was appointed chargée de mission for the organization of films/music evenings and for a collaboration in the general organization of the Western Balkans Tour run by Confrontations Europe.


Currently, she is a member of the Board and Editorial Committee of the think tank Confrontations Europe, Paris, and of the Board of the AAFEE/Association des Amis du Festival de film L'Europe autour de l'Europe. She is Editor in Chief of the AAFEE Letter.
